Gmagi is a Level 5 wild ghost from the bizarro family.

In "Gmagicard", it was awakened from its nest after a Roadway Musical letter sign fell into the ground for not being properly placed. It later merged with a deck of cards and briefly became Gmagicard.

Appearance

Kawai mode

In its kawai mode, Gmagi is a light red ghost shaped like a comma mark. It has red eyes, black scleras, two white upper fangs on its jaws, and a red tongue. It wears a black top hat with a red brim and a black bow tie.

As Gmagicard

Upon merging with a deck of cards, Gmagicard becomes a black ghost with white eyes and a pair of arms that have three fingers each. It gains a magician outfit that consists of a black suit jacket, a white polo "shirt" underneath, four white buttons that are shaped like card symbols, a red cape with holes, and a pair of white gloves. The cards that are layered on the back of its head can be seen as its "hair". Its top hat's brim has black card symbols, while its bow tie becomes red.

Abilities

• Flight: Gmagi/Gmagicard can fly in both its kawai and booster modes.
• Intangibility: Gmagi/Gmagicard can phase through walls, floors, and generally solid objects. The only exception is when it is trapped in the Ghost Cloud or one of the Boo Caps.
• Possession: As a merger ghost, Gmagi can gain additional powers by possessing objects. The only receptacle it was seen merged with was a deck of cards.
• Magic Prop Transformation: Gmagi can transform anyone into a magic-related prop by phasing through them. This includes a flower bouquet, a pile of dice, a rabbit plushie, and a balloon.
• Card Trick: As Gmagicard, it has infinite cards stored inside its hat. The ghost can either fire or throw the cards into people to quickly transform them into magic props.
• Card Weaponry: Gmagicard can use its cards to defend itself by creating a shield or an axe out of them.

• Gmagi's name is a play on the English word "magic", though the second and third syllables are pronounced like the French word "magie".
• In the French version, the name of the ghost's booster mode is Cartomage. The name alludes to the French words "carte magique", meaning "magic card".
• As revealed on the 2021 Ghostforce brand deck by Ypsilon Films, Gmagi was going to have a different character design. It was going to be a green luck-themed ghost named "Gmagia".^[2]
  • It was also going to have an alternative name called "Lukyzalo".^[3]
• Gmagi, Piraniak, and Scaregrow are the only known ghosts that wear any type of hat as part of their physical appearances. Out of the three, Gmagi retains its top hat and even its bow tie in both its kawai and booster modes.
• Before Gmagi was captured by Krush, the latter called the ghost "Boo-dini". This is a reference to a famous Hungarian-American illusionist Harry Houdini.
