Zipzap is a Level 4 wild ghost from the spectral family.

In "Zipzap", it was awakened from its nest after a television was accidentally dropped onto the ground and shattered the screen.

Appearance

Kawai mode

Zipzap is a blue ghost that resembles a tadpole. It has a glowing white head fin, dark blue sclerae, two white fangs, and two front limbs. Both its eye pupils and tail fin have a rainbow-colored gradient.

Booster mode

Zipzap's booster mode resembles an electric eel. Its head fin, gills, limbs, and the bottom of the tail fin are all in the shape of a lightning bolt. Its pupils also become rectangular as opposed to round.

Abilities

• Flight: Zipzap can fly in both its kawai and booster modes. Its flight mimics the movement of an eel swimming in the ocean.
• Intangibility: Zipzap can phase through walls, floors, and generally solid objects. The only exception is when it is trapped in the Ghost Cloud or one of the Boo Caps.
• Hypno Flash: In its kawai mode, Zipzap can hypnotize anyone who is looking at a screen. Upon switching to booster mode, the ghost's eyes become screens that can immediately hypnotize people with just one look. Anyone who is under the ghost's trance would chant its name out loud.
• Zapping-In/Zapping-Out: Because of Zipzap's high speed, it can quickly jump in and out of any screen to haunt it and put people in its trance.
• Lightning Storm Creation: Upon reaching booster mode, Zipzap can cause the outdoor weather to have a lightning storm.
• Zapping Bolt: In its booster mode, Zipzap can attack like an actual electric eel by firing an electric bolt from its head fin.

• As revealed on the 2021 Ghostforce brand deck by Ypsilon Films, Zipzap's name was originally going to be "Screenoscream".^[1]
  • Screenoscream's name is a play on "screen of scream", referring to its ability to hypnotize people by using various screens.
  • Early designs for the ghost were created by David François in around 2018.^[2]
  • The ghost's original name is misspelled as "Skreenoskream" on the brand deck.
• Zipzap's name refers to the ghost's ability to "zip" at a high speed and "zap" screens to put its victims in a trance.
  • Some official sources would have Zipzap's name spelled as "Zip-Zap".
• The official Ghostforce website revealed that Zipzap is from an uncommon specimen.^[3]
• Electric eels are known for generating up to 860 watts of electricity to attack their prey. Zipzap gained Boo Energy by haunting multiple phone screens that each contain 5 to 20 watts but managed to go into booster mode after haunting an advertisement billboard at One Times Square which contained at least 161 megawatts.
• Zipzap, Mastaar, Xhypno, and Chaorion are the only known ghosts that already have an established name within their specimen. The reason is that each of these four ghost specimens can hypnotize its victims into chanting its name out loud.
• In "Jellystery", Zipzap was mentioned by Liv Baker when she noticed the Viseo-Ghost that Krush used to capture the ghost.
