Mikroo is a Level 2 wild ghost from the molecular family.

In "Mikroo", it was awakened after Drake Miller opened its nest at the NYC school library.

Appearance

Kawai mode

Mikroo is a tiny pink ghost that resembles a spiky tactile ball. It has pink eyes, black scleras, and spikes all over its rounded body.

Booster mode

Mikroo becomes larger in its booster mode and gains two bulky spiky arms.

Personality

Unlike the behavior of other ghosts, Mikroo is cowardly and easily frightened. Its specimen's kawai mode is known to be the tinest within the species and this particular ghost happened to be a Level 2. It found the larger size of any living beings and even other ghosts to be intimidating from its perspective. Mikroo is afraid of almost everything, including loud noises, that it would always find a place to hide from them. However, it can sometimes show courage to shrink down anyone it perceives as a threat. Once it switches to booster mode, it becomes much larger and gains more confidence in attacking its enemies.

History

Season 1

Based on its cycle level, Mikroo was presumably born on Earth and had used its shrinking powers to attack living beings that are bigger than it. After reaching peak fear, the ghost found its first and only nest in the form of an antique decorative egg and slept underneath a ballerina figurine. In "Mikroo", Professor Pascal stumbled upon the nest that was placed on top of a book about dimensional physics at the NYC school library. He unknowingly disturbed Mikroo's slumber by blowing the dust off the book and into the decorative egg. As soon as he left the library, the nest opened by itself and sucked all the dust particles inside.

Later, during a class lecture, Professor Pascal grabbed the decorative egg off the bookshelf so he could provide a replacement figure of Drake Miller for Mike's classroom diorama. Drake opened the nest and pulled out the ballerina figurine, which his rival Andy Baker immediately mocked and the rest of their classmates all laughed at him. Drake angrily slammed the nest onto the table, which awakened Mikroo from its hibernation. The ghost curiously looked up and began to panic upon seeing that it was surrounded by humans who all laughed very loudly and were bigger than it. After Mikroo gathered its courage, it shrunk Professor Pascal and his students in the library. Mikroo then heard a sound coming from the outside and quickly hid behind a ceiling lamp. It peeked down and saw it was Liv Baker who was looking for the class. The ghost charged forward to try shrinking her too, but Liv managed to dodge it and escaped the library.

Mikroo was having trouble finding Liv in the school since she had snuck into her locker and entered the underground laboratory. The ghost flew up before realizing that it was outside the school building. It curiously looked down to see that the street was filled with people, causing Mikroo to panic and headed back inside since it wasn't ready to face more humans. It went into the boy's bathroom and calmed itself down, thinking it was safe. Mikroo was then startled by a toilet flushing and quickly headed out to find someplace to hide.

Later, upon arriving back at the library, Mikroo encountered Asta who wanted to bite the ghost for shrinking his owner. The dog chased Mikroo around the library until he got himself stuck between the legs of a chair. Mikroo then shrunk the dog before it went into booster mode and spit out a massive dust cloud that covered the entire first floor of the library. The ghost had grown much larger from shrinking its victims that it became more confident in fighting its enemies. When it saw Myst approaching a shrunken Fury and Krush, Mikroo immediately shrunk her too.

The ghost then heard Fury taunting behind it, and it began fighting against the Baker siblings. This distracted Mikroo from noticing Krush putting together a plan. When the desk lamp suddenly turned on, Mikroo saw a silhouette of what appeared to be a T-rex roaring at it. This frightened Mikroo and it got lassoed by Fury. Krush then released Growmax and weakened Mikroo back to its kawai mode before capturing it, restoring everyone to their normal size. It was then sent to the Ghost Cloud where it now resides with the other captive ghosts.

In "Kaboom," a picture of Mikroo appeared on the training room computer.

Abilities

• Flight: Mikroo can fly in both kawai and booster modes.
• Intangibility: Mikroo can phase through walls, floors, and generally solid objects. The only exception is when it is trapped in the Ghost Cloud or one of the Boo Caps.
• Tiny Touch: Mikroo can shrink anyone it touches or goes through to make them the size of a mouse. This can even drain the Boo Energy from other ghosts to stop its enemies from using their powers against it. The only time it was seen shrinking an inanimate object was a lamp during its fight against the Ghostforce. Its relative had also once shrunken Glowboo, implying that the Mikroo specimen can shrink sentient beings too.
• Dust Cloud: While switching to its booster mode, Mikroo would spit out a massive dust cloud to evade not only its enemies but even anything looking bigger than it.

• Some early pieces of concept art would depict Mikroo as either yellow or purple.
• Mikroo's name is a play on the English word "micro", referring to its small size. However, its name is pronounced as "miːkruː".
  • The first syllable of the ghost's name sounds similar to the English word "meek", referring to an individual being quiet and timid. This is a reference to how Mikroo is easily afraid of anything bigger than it.
  • Mikroo's name is misspelled as "Mikro" in the "Ghosts Line Up" slide from the 2021 Ghostforce brand deck.^[1]
• According to the 2021 Ghostforce brand deck by Ypsilon Films, Mikroo originally going to have an alternative name called "Minimax".
• The official Ghostforce website revealed that Mikroo is from an uncommon specimen.^[2]
  • Another member of its specimen appeared in the comic story "Mikroo" from the second issue of the Ghostforce magazine series.
• Mikroo, along with the rest of the members from its specimen, is the smallest known ghost that the Ghostforce ever captured.
  • As revealed in the ghost's character biography on the official Ghostforce website, Mikroo is also terrified of other ghosts because of their larger sizes. This makes its fear ironic since it is now living in the Ghost Cloud with almost a hundred other captive ghosts.
• Mikroo, Freezofear, Spong, and Droplet are the only known ghosts who were asleep inside a container that they used as a nest.
• Mikroo and Jam Jam are currently the youngest known ghosts that the Ghostforce has captured since they are both Level 2 ghosts.
• A ghost chess piece for Mikroo was first seen in "Somnibou".
