Charlie is a major recurring character of Ghostforce. She is a student in Professor Pascal's class at the NYC school located in Manhattan, New York City. She is also the owner of the Ghost Blog and runs the school blog.

Appearance

Charlie is a short Japanese-American preteen with gray eyes, fair skin, and dark indigo hair. Her hair has bangs and is tied up in a ponytail with a red scrunchie and a pencil.

She wears a gray cardigan with a white sailor collar with two pink stripes, a pink undershirt, and light gray trousers. She also has a blue watch on her right wrist that is said to be the same shade as Krush's Ghostforce armor. Her shoes are blue with white soles, white toe tips, and white shoelaces.

Personality

Burghorror 010

Charlie is a curious, energetic, reckless, intrepid, and friendly young blogger. She is interested in discovering the new members of the Ghostforce because she had at least heard that the team was originally a superhero/ghost-hunting duo that was disbanded many years ago and their whereabouts are currently left unknown to the general public. She wants to know what had happened to the first Ghostforce that she had even once asked the current heroes if they were the original duo's kids, presumably after they made their first public appearance in the city.[2]

It is Charlie's interest in the Ghostforce that led to the creation of the Ghost Blog, a fan blog where she would update her audience on the heroes and their many adventures around Manhattan. She wants to ensure that the information she gathered is accurate for her viewers, but her way of investigation often involves her being on the scene to film the Ghostforce and risking her safety whenever a ghost happens to be attacking the borough. Her constant habit of getting close to a ghost attack leads to her getting into danger and forcing the heroes (in particular, Krush) to always rescue her. However, Charlie holds a huge admiration and respect for the heroes, and she listens to them whenever they bring her to safety and runs away if she finds the ghost attack to be too dangerous to be around.

Charlie obtains a lot of information during her investigation that she can tell whenever someone provides contradicting details about a ghost attack to her. For instance, she didn't fall for Officer Callaghan's deception in "Burghorror" after recognizing his attempt to take credit for the Ghostforce's fight against Sharkoak despite his earlier claim of being an "expert" on them. She also once hosted a pop quiz in "Troublestretch" with surprisingly accurate answers (such as knowing Krush has fractal powers) that would be hard for anyone else to obtain. However, there is an indication that she does exclusive interviews with the Ghostforce to get her facts since she is shown to have known the names of a few ghost specimens and what kind of power they have.

While she is normally friendly and empathetic, Charlie rarely can be seen angry and would snark if she starts to lose patience towards someone, such as Andy not showing up with his friends for her breakfast potluck in "Jam Jam". She also tends to be a bystander in some situations whenever she witnesses one of her classmates being ridiculed, such as laughing at Andy's expense on two separate occasions after Drake mocked him. She is even friends with Stacy and Jane, a pair of mean cheerleaders at the school. However, she would sometimes stand up for her classmates if she noticed Drake and/or the twins pushing too far with their mockery.

History

Pre-Series

While not much is known about Charlie's past, the official Ghostforce website revealed that she had at least heard of the Ghostforce when it was originally a superhero duo. She knows the first iteration of the Ghostforce stopped being active around a decade ago, but she is never able to find out what happened to them.[2]

Season 1

While the details from "Origins" haven't been revealed yet, Charlie met and befriended Mike Collins, Andy Baker, and Liv Baker when the three kids began attending Professor Pascal's class at the NYC school. She presumably created the Ghost Blog shortly after the return of the Ghostforce who saved Manhattan from a ghost attack for the first time in years. She also began to have a heroic admiration towards Krush, while at the same time developing romantic feelings toward Mike.[2]

Pharaok (269)

In "Pharaok", Charlie was hanging out with the three kids at Central Park where she cheerfully revealed that Krush is her favorite member of the Ghostforce. She was completely unaware that she was complimenting Mike, but she didn't notice because she and Liv both headed back to class from their lunch break. When Pharaok later attacked the school, Charlie hid from it before heading outside to film the Ghostforce at Times Square. She was almost transformed into a mummy when Pharaok noticed her, but the heroes all came to her rescue; Krush sacrificed himself from an incoming attack, resulting in Myst teleporting her inside a taxi cab and telling her to stay there for the rest of the fight. Following the ghost's capture, Charlie headed back to school and shared her recording with Carla and Stacy. She was then told by Liv that Mike is also "a huge Krush fanboy" and a fan of ancient Egypt just like her. Thinking that she and Mike have a lot in common, Charlie joined him and the Baker siblings to the Collins Tower so they could see the Mask of Pharases II from his father's collection.

In "Raijin, Charlie asked Mike to go on a walk with her on her birthday. Their plan was later canceled because of Raijin's attack, so she texted Mike that she was postponing it for the following day.

Burghorror 073

In "Burghorror", Charlie had asked Liv if she could be her cameraman for a video she'll be creating for the Ghost Blog where she'll be interviewing some of the New Yorkers about the Ghostforce. However, when Liv claimed that she had to "bail", Mike quickly arrived and filled in the position. She decided the first person she should interview was Officer Callaghan because she assumed he often worked side-by-side with the heroes. However, as soon as Charlie and Mike got inside the police cruiser for an exclusive one-on-one interview, she was proven wrong when Callaghan lied about stopping Sharkoak at Times Square since she remembered it was Krush and the rest of the Ghostforce who saved the borough.

Burghorror 269

When Burghorror began attacking 5th Avenue, Charlie instantly noticed that Krush wasn't with his teammates and wondered out loud where he was. She and Mike both headed to Times Square to continue the recording while Fury and Myst were trying to fight back the ghost after Glowboo went down. She was almost get hit by Burghorror's incoming attack, but Fury quickly came in to protect her and Mike. She then noticed that Mike had dropped her phone in the process and was about to look for it. However, she became disheartened when Mike suddenly decided to "walk out" on her and claimed his reason was that he couldn't help her. Even after Krush finally arrived at the scene and captured Spig, Charlie was still sad about Mike not being there for her. She was planning on berating him at school the next day, but she noticed her phone was still missing at Times Square and it wasn't until she suddenly found it inside her locker. This led to her wrongfully assuming that Mike must have left her to find a hiding place to film Krush because she noticed the footage was shot at an impressive angle. After confronting Mike about it and he "admitted" his intention, she happily kissed him on the cheek.

In "Troublestretch", Charlie hosted a Ghostforce pop quiz for the Ghost Blog and invited her classmates to participate in it at Central Park.

Cookieflame 054

In "Cookieflame", Mike asked Charlie out on a date to the American Museum of Natural History so they could see the seashell fossil exhibit, to which she agreed. She was on her way to the museum when she suddenly got a text from Mike that there was a sudden change of plan and asked her to meet him at Central Park instead. She was taken aback upon her arrival that Mike decided to have their first date be a picnic because he figured they "could try something a bit fancier", even to the point of changing his normal attire to be like a tuxedo. Despite the date coming off as awkward for the two, Charlie couldn't help but feel flattered by Mike being a gentleman towards her and blushed when he got closer to her while trying to clean up a spill he accidentally caused after dropping Roland's then-latest hot dog onto her lap. When Flamagma interrupted their date by terrorizing the nearby parkgoers with its attack, Charlie began recording it for the Ghost Blog despite Mike trying to get her to take cover. However, when Andy suddenly appeared out of a bush and threw a plate full of cookies from their picnic date towards the ghost, the three all didn't expect Flamagma to merge with one of the cookies instead.

Cookieflame 201

Charlie was fascinated by the ghost and about to continue recording it, only for her to notice Mike suddenly wasn't there with her. So, she stopped prioritizing her blog and frantically began searching for him instead. She was unable to find him anywhere in the park so she went to the Grand Army Plaza to see if he was nearby. When she noticed Cookieflame came back and the heroes were trying to evacuate everyone away from the ghost, Charlie was so scared and worried about Mike that she hid behind the side of a truck so it wouldn't see her. She was then rescued by Krush from Cookieflame's incoming chocolate chip projectiles, but before he left, she quickly told him that she was trying to find her friend. Not knowing Krush is secretly Mike underneath his Ghostforce armor, Charlie had revealed to him that she prefers his usual self. She later reunited with Mike across the street from the museum where he apologized to her about the picnic being a lame first date idea, but she assured him that she was glad he was okay after the Ghostforce captured Flamagma. The two then continued their date by heading to the museum to see the seashell fossils as they originally planned.

Scorpod 077

In "Scorpod", Charlie was at 5th Avenue live-streaming the Ghostforce while they were having a difficult time fighting against the titular ghost. She then got to learn the hard way what the Ghostforce's responsibilities are during their missions; if they are unable to catch a single wild ghost before it reaches peak fear, then the damage it caused would become permanent. So, she became devastated upon witnessing the heroes had failed their mission for the first time after Scorpod got away and left a lot of people, including Krush and Glowboo, to stay petrified inside its amber. However, after Myst managed to capture Scorpod a few hours later, Charlie filmed the Ghostforce at Times Square while they were cheered by the citizens for saving Manhattan once again.

Biballoon 070

In "Biballoon", Charlie was attending the 73rd Annual Central Park Festival with Mike, the Baker siblings, and Carla. While waiting for the ceremony to begin, she revealed to them that her latest live-stream about the Ghostforce had reached ten thousand hits on the Ghost Blog because everyone likes Myst. She was later thrilled upon learning that the reason was that a lot of people had voted for Myst as their favorite celebrity in a then-recent survey and won the title. The TV host Alice Spancer announced during the ceremony that the New York City mayor decided to give the superheroine a Medal of Honor for it, to which Charlie and the rest of the audience cheered for her. She also learned from Myst's speech that the Ghostforce has been taming ghosts so they can help the heroes with deboosting the wild ghosts in Manhattan.

Specials

In "Grump King", when the kids gathered around and started talking about their worst fears at the NYC Dunk, Charlie confessed her fear of witches. After Carla arrived with a mysterious old chest she discovered at Central Park and told her classmates about it being connected to a legend about the "master of fears", Charlie was among a few curious students who liked the idea of releasing it because she wanted to post about it on the Ghost Blog. So, she and her classmates all visited the Baker residence later that night to perform the ritual. However, they discovered too late that the chest was a nest belonging to Grump King who scared nearly all of them into evacuating the apartment.

In "Panikokado", Charlie was seen leaving the NYC school and heading home to spend her Christmas break.

Bridge episodes

In "Jam Jam", Charlie organized a breakfast potluck at the NYC school library. While she told her classmates they could bring whatever they wanted, she insisted in a group text that nobody should bring any hot dogs. She was later one of the only students to have safely evacuated the library when Jam Jam transformed her classmates into strawberries after Andy unintentionally brought the ghost's nest to the gathering.

In "Rozamour", Charlie visited Central Park where her classmates were holding a Valentine's Day fundraiser to finance their end-of-the-school-year trip. She got to witness Cupidour being awakened from its nest, but she was able to record it merging with a rose and becoming Rozamour. She then hid behind a nearby street lamp so she could film the Ghostforce's fight against Rozamour for the Ghost Blog, but she suddenly got hit by one of its rose petals after Krush accidentally redirected it toward her. This caused her to fall in love with Fury at first sight and made him feel uncomfortable with her unwanted affection. She was later restored to normal after Cupidour got captured, but she was deeply embarrassed by the entire incident as soon as she watched a recording of herself pursuing Fury around Manhattan. Nonetheless, she quickly forgot about it when Mike arrived to give her a chocolate box as a Valentine's Day gift and the two proceeded to go out on a date.

Relationships

Mike Collins/Krush

Burghorror 012

Charlie first met Mike when they became classmates on the first day of school. While "Origins" haven't been released yet, it is presumed that Charlie, like the rest of her classmates, used to call him by his nickname "Junior" and saw him as a son of Michael Collins. She eventually started addressing him as "Mike" after the two became friends. Charlie wants to do whatever she can to spend time with Mike and get to know him better, such as having asked him if he wants to go out for a walk with her on her birthday in "Raijin". She even became excited when she believed they have a lot in common near the end of "Pharaok" and got to visit the Collins Tower to see the Mask of Pharases II after Liv claimed that Mike has a love for ancient Egypt.

In "Burghorror", Charlie got to hang out with Mike while they were creating a video for the Ghost Blog and saw themselves as a team. She helped calm him down when she mistakenly thought he was afraid of Burghorror and assured him that they would stick together during their coverage of its attack. Because Charlie didn't know about Mike's secret double life, she became upset when she thought he suddenly decided to abandon her at Times Square and she considered giving him a piece of mind on the following day. However, after discovering her missing phone in her locker and wrongfully assuming Mike left her to find a hiding spot to film Krush's fight against Burghorror, she forgave him before kissing him on the cheek.

Cookieflame 253

Her romantic feelings towards Mike were eventually confirmed in "Cookieflame" when they finally had their first date. Despite calling Mike a "friend" while talking to Krush, she blushes whenever the two get closer together and admits that she likes him just the way he is. She cared about Mike so much that she was willing to set aside the Ghost Blog and look for him because she was worried about his sudden disappearance during Cookieflame's attack.

While the two aren't together yet, Charlie is still supportive of Mike because she understands how insecure he is. She confessed in "Batata" that she found him to be the bravest person she have ever met for standing up to Mr. Vladovsky and saying a half-truth to protect her from the principal's wrath. While Charlie did compliment Liv for correctly answering all of Professor Pascal's questions about astrology in "Chaorion", she finds Mike to be as smart and knowledgeable as their teacher since he is one of the top students in the class. She likes hanging out with Mike to the point that she once felt visibly dejected when he turned down her offer to accompany her to the American Museum of Natural History and see the geometric exhibition in "Criangle".

In "Rozamour", Charlie had accepted Mike's offer to be his Valentine and went on a date with him, with "Swip Swap" even implying that the two continued to see each other based on how Mr. Collins briefly teased his son about it. However, their relationship status is currently left ambiguous since there is no confirmation if the two are an official couple.

Creepop 156

Charlie is ironically a huge fan of Krush and sees him as her favorite Ghostforce member, not realizing that he is secretly Mike underneath the armor. Based on how she blushed after he saved her at one point in "Creepop", it implies that she has feelings for both of his identities but she leans more towards Mike. It's completely unclear what's the exact reason for Charlie to like Krush, aside from his role as the team's strategist, but it's heavily presumed it must have something to do with the second iteration of the Ghostforce making their first public appearance during the events of "Origins".

She deeply appreciates Krush for always coming to her rescue and would listen to him whenever he warns her that it isn't safe for her to be out filming content for the Ghost Blog. There are times when Charlie notices how similar Mike and Krush are, including the same height and dance moves, but she never draws any connection to realize they are the same person.

Andy Baker/Fury

Charlie presumably met Andy on the first day of school in "Origins", along with Liv and Mike. The two aren't close friends, but she appreciated him for defending Mike against Drake in "Mikroo" that she had taken a picture of the Baker siblings and complimented it being "well played". Although she sometimes laughs at Andy whenever Drake teases him, she does find Andy himself to be funny too. She was invited as a guest for his surprise birthday party in "Agia" and laughed in amusement when she watched him unable to blow out a trick candle from his cake.

However, Charlie knows very well that Andy can be impulsive and disorganized. In "Jam Jam", she was visibly annoyed when she noticed that he didn't show up to her breakfast potluck and sarcastically asked both Mike and Liv if he had forgotten about it. She would often tolerate his flaws, but her tone implies that she has been used to Andy either being late or forgetting something important if it's related to school.

Charlie doesn't have a huge interest in Fury compared to everyone else since she always dismisses him whenever she talks about either Krush or Myst. She stated in "Pharaok" that she found Fury "totes lame" compared to Krush due to him being unable to stop a wild ghost during a live stream. She also ignored Andy in "Biballoon" when he reminded her that Fury helped Myst with defeating a ghost that occurred a day before the 73rd Annual Central Park Festival.

The only time when Charlie had direct interaction with Fury was in "Rozamour" while she was hypnotized by the titular ghost into falling in love with him. She became clingy towards him and stalked him during the entire incident, even to the point of creating a collage to show how much she "loved" him. After being restored to normal, Charlie felt shameful upon realizing what had happened and regretted not stopping herself from pestering him.

Liv Baker/Myst

Pharaok (025)

Although there is not much on-screen interaction between Charlie and Liv, the two have been friends ever since they presumably met on the first day of school. She trusts Liv enough that she had asked her to be her cameraman for the Ghost Blog in "Burghorror" before she claimed she must bail at the last minute. Charlie sympathizes with Liv whenever the latter is being ridiculed by either Drake or the cheerleader twins, as shown in "Ninja Ki" when she was one of the only students who understood Liv was in a bad mood and didn't laugh at her misfortune regarding her backpack.

Charlie may not have the same level of interest in Myst compared to Krush, but she appreciates her leadership skill during the Ghostforce's fight against a wild ghost. In "Biballoon", Charlie cheered for Myst when the superheroine was announced as New York City's favorite celebrity and was rewarded with the city's Medal of Honor during the 73rd Annual Central Park Festival. She also found Myst's ghost Octocat to be adorable upon being told that the Ghostforce had tamed it to be the superheroine's loyal companion.

Glowboo

Charlie has never met Glowboo in person and barely knows him very well, but she recognizes him as a member of the Ghostforce. In "Gumglue", she acknowledged him to her viewers during her live stream of the titular ghost's attack.

Rajat

Zipzap 023

As revealed on the official Ghostforce website, Charlie is best friends with Rajat. She doesn't know that Rajat has a crush on her and is always trying to impress her because she already has feelings for Mike. However, she would let Rajat accompany her during her investigation because they are both interested in learning more about the Ghostforce. The official website even claimed their friendship is so strong that Charlie never gets angry with Rajat whenever he makes a mistake in front of her.[2]

In "Bananice", Charlie giggled at Rajat's sarcasm when he rhetorically asked if Mike and the Baker siblings found a Bananice popsicle to be an underestimated ecological force during their science presentation. They were later seen walking out of the school and had a friendly conversation before they both noticed Andy stealing Drake's basketball on the steps of the front entrance.

In "Troublestretch", Charlie invited Rajat to be a participant in her Ghostforce pop quiz and was later bemused when he made up an answer for one of her questions.

In "Mascarade", Charlie was impressed by Rajat stating a fact about hot dogs and seemed to agree with Carla that they should do a whole story about him for the Ghost Blog.

Carla

Piraniak 013

Despite being best friends with Rajat, Charlie is mostly seen hanging out with Carla in the series. She is often weirded out by Carla's eccentricity but they nonetheless get along very well.

The girls bond over their shared curiosity about the paranormal, especially if it has any connection to the Ghostforce, so Charlie is intrigued by Carla's bizarro detector being able to detect any anomalous objects in Manhattan. In "Piraniak", she accompanied Carla to the Brooklyn Bridge to test out the device and found an old treasure chest that was a nest belonging to Piraniak. She was also one of the few students who were looking forward to releasing the "master of fears" from a mysterious old chest that Carla discovered in "Grump King", not knowing until it was too late that the "master of fears" was a ghost.

Marlo

While their friendship isn't shown in-depth, Charlie sometimes talks to Marlo at school. In "Gumglue", she continued her Ghost Blog live-stream even after he dragged her out of the museum to get away from the titular ghost.

Stacy and Jane

Batata 033

Charlie seems to be friends with the twins since she would often hang out with them during school hours and share any recent footage she captured for the Ghost Blog. She doesn't have a lot in common with Stacy and Jane in terms of personality and interests, but she knows how much they both adore the Ghostforce just as much as she does.

Despite her supposed friendship with the twins, Charlie doesn't like seeing both of them being mean towards their classmates. She had given Mike an apologetic smile in "Jinjoke" after Stacy insulted him for saying a joke that didn't make any of the three girls laugh and Jane praised her sister for being "funny and mean". In "Batata", she was initially thrilled when the twins set back nearly all the clocks at the school because they unintentionally helped her gain an extra hour to study for an upcoming math test. However, after Mike pointed out that they haven't changed Mr. Vladovsky's clock yet, Charlie quickly defended him from Stacy's mockery when the latter assumed he lacked any guts to do it himself.

Drake Miller and Bobby

Mikroo 023

While Charlie barely interacts with Drake and Bobby, she seems to despise both of them because of how they often make fun of Andy and Mike.

In "Mikroo", Charlie got to witness Drake bullying Mike for being the youngest student in the class and attempting to steal credit for his classroom diorama. Though she was unable to stand up to Drake, she was seen laughing at him after he was given a ballerina figurine to represent himself in the same diorama and Andy made fun of him for it as payback. She later smirked when Mike tricked Drake into thinking he had recorded another bullying attempt and threatened to send it to Mr. Vladovsky as punishment.

In "Meta&Lix", Charlie and Bobby were assigned as partners for Professor Pascal's morning assignment where the two must get to know each other before presenting their findings to the class. They were both seen laughing in the background when Jane complained to Stacy about the latter being partnered with Drake. However, it's currently unknown if Charlie is on good terms with Bobby after that episode.

Mr. Vladovsky

Like the rest of her classmates, Charlie is afraid of Mr. Vladovsky and wants to avoid angering him whenever they cross paths.

Officer Callaghan

Burghorror 024

Charlie met Officer Callaghan in "Burghorror" when she decided to interview him for the Ghost Blog. She initially thought that Callaghan works alongside the Ghostforce because of his role as a lieutenant of the New York City Police Department and therefore must have known them. However, during a one-on-one interview with him, Charlie was taken aback by Callaghan's self-centeredness and presumably stopped finding him credible when he claimed that he was the one who defeated Sharkoak despite he wasn't there during its attack.

Even though Charlie didn't have any speaking lines in "Graffurious", it can be interpreted that she had lost respect for Officer Callaghan after she saw him willing to arrest Liv for supposedly graffitiing the Kasenti Tower because of a single accusation from Drake.

Glups

Jellyjack 092

Charlie is currently unaware of Glups's connection with the Ghostforce since she has only encountered him once. However, he made a bad first impression on her in "Jellyjack" after he briefly became a feral ghost and attacked her at Central Park.
