Growmax is a recurring yet pivotal character of Ghostforce. It is a tamed ghost from the fractal family. It is currently being stored inside its Boo Cap to provide the Boo Energy for Krush's medallion.
When the situation calls for it, Growmax is released from its Boo Cap by Krush for his finishing move to weaken a wild ghost that terrorizes Manhattan.
Appearance
Kawai form
In its kawai form, Growmax resembles an ice golem. It has light blue eyes with dark blue sclera. It also has a large rectangular block of ice above its eyes that resembles a unibrow, making the ghost come off as constantly frowning. It has a rectangular block on top of its head and a fanged underbite.
Booster mode
In its booster mode, Growmax becomes much larger and grows a bulker body, lumbering arms, and two legs that resemble ice cubes. Its eyes also decrease in size.
Personality
As a tame ghost, Growmax is fully aware that its role is to help the Ghostforce capture every wild ghost in Manhattan. Whenever it is released from its Boo Cap, Growmax would immediately go to booster mode upon ingesting a wild ghost's fear and helps its owner deboost said wild ghost back to its kawai mode. Growmax would then unboost itself and goes back to its Boo Cap to sleep until its next summation. Based on how it is always depicted frowning because of its unibrow, Growmax can be interpreted as courageous.
Abilities
- Flight: Growmax can fly in its kawai and booster form.
- Intangibility: Growmax can phase through walls, floors, and generally solid objects. The only exception is when it is inside its Boo Cap.
- Fractal Ice: As a power source for Krush, Growmax has cryokinesis which can create ice shards. It's currently unknown if Growmax has similar powers to Freezofear in its kawai mode where it could freeze people by phasing through them. However, in its booster mode, it can create large ice shards by the touch of its hands.
- Super Strength: According to the 2021 Ghostforce brand deck by Ypsilon Films, Growmax's powers provide strength for Krush. This power allows Miss Jones to create Krush's Fractal Mace that is durable.[1]

While Growmax is barely seen interacting with its owner due to it being always kept inside its Boo Cap, the ghost understands its role is to provide Krush's finishing move to fully weaken a wild ghost before its capture. Upon releasing from its Boo Cap, Growmax would use its cryokinesis powers to unboost a wild ghost back to its kawai mode.

Trivia
- Some concept art would have Growmax's name spelled as "Gromax".
- Growmax's name is a reference to how it can increase its size into a giant ice monster in its booster mode.
- In the Ghostforce MIPCOM 2014 trailer, a different blue ghost was used for Andy's transformation sequence when the series was in pre-production.
- Not counting Glups since he stays in the underground laboratory with Miss Jones, Growmax is the first of the four tamed ghosts to appear in the summoning sequence.
- Despite appearing in repeated cutscenes where it would be summoned by Krush, Growmax made its first official appearance in "Dinozos" where it was asleep in its Boo Cap while its Boo Energy recharged its owner's medallion.
- In "Scorpod", Growmax was only seen in a picture on the recharging station because it was inside Krush's armor storage when the latter was trapped in amber by the titular ghost.
- Growmax, Freezofear, Prehistorrible, and Freakking are currently the only known ghosts with cryokinesis powers. Ironically, Growmax's powers were used by Krush to trap Prehistorrible on the Brooklyn Bridge.
