Oh, come on! It obviously has a highly developed sense of smell. Which makes sense for a toxic ghost.

Fury, "Trashotic"

Spong is a Level 4 wild ghost from the viscous family.

In "Trashotic", it was awakened from its nest after a seagull landed on top of the dumpster. It later merged with a garbage can and briefly became Trashotic.

Appearance

Kawai form

Spong's kawai form resembles a yellow-green sludge. It has green eyes, black scleras, two fangs, and a red tongue.

As Trashotic

Upon merging with a garbage can, Trashotic gained a body with its face and arms resembling black trash bags. It had a trash can lid as a head and a pair of metal feet.

Personality

Spong is a mischievous ghost who likes the smell of garbage and wants to spread its stench to the rest of its surroundings. As a merger ghost, it would eat anything with a repulsive odor to convert them into Boo Energy before finding a receptacle that fits their taste. It doesn't like anything with a pleasant smell and had once caused every flower displayed at the front of a shop to wither after briefly sniffing them. Upon merging with a garbage can to become Trashotic, the ghost became more aggressive and was willing to use its powers to attack its enemies physically.

History

Season 1

Trashotic 013

At some point, Spong found an old dumpster in an alleyway at East 59th Street and started using it as a nest. In "Trashotic", the ghost was awakened when a seagull disturbed its slumber by bouncing on top of the dumpster lids. Irritated, Spong unleashed a smelly aura and scared the seagull away before the ghost went back to sleep. Later, Andy Baker briefly visited the alleyway and sprayed a bottle of cologne at himself near the dumpster, not knowing that Spong was inside of it before he headed to school. The cologne heavily revolted Spong that he left the dumpster and began causing trouble in Manhattan.

Trashotic 130

After it curiously explored the borough and scared various people with its smelly breath, Spong went down to the sewers where it was delighted to find how repulsive everything was down there. It sipped on the sewage water before burping out a huge cloud of toxic fumes that lingered throughout Manhattan, grabbing the Ghostforce's attention. Later, while relaxing on top of a pile of garbage sludge, it suddenly sniffed something pleasant and let out a frustrated roar. Spong followed the scent to figure out what it was, so the ghost could get rid of it. It was then ambushed by the Ghostforce with their signature weapons out ready to attack it. The ghost unleashed its smelly breath at the kids before it flew out of the sewers.

Trashotic 163

Spong noticed a flower stand being displayed outside a shop and curiously sniffed at them, only to be put off by how pleasant they were. After it belched at all the flowers to wither them, the ghost didn't pass by the shop any further since it noticed two dumpsters in a nearby alleyway. Spong was already digging in, only to be interrupted by the Ghostforce who were about to capture it in a Boo Cap. The ghost swallowed its meal before nonchalantly letting out another large burp that blew the kids away. Since it ate enough garbage and convert them into Boo Energy, Spong merged with a nearby garbage can and became Trashotic.

Trashotic 220

With its newfound powers to fire balls of garbage goo, Trashotic proceeded to attack the Ghostforce at 5th Avenue. Its rampage didn't last long, though, because the kids used a bottle of cologne and a deodorant spray to repel the stench, causing the ghost to deboost back to its kawai mode and get captured. It was then sent to the Ghost Cloud where it now resides with the other captive ghosts.

A picture of Trashotic appeared on the training room computer in both "Dunky Boss" and "Kaboom".
