Asta is a recurring character of Ghostforce. He is Professor Pascal's pet dog who always accompany his owner during his class lectures at the NYC school.
Appearance
Asta is a stout drop-eared Skye Terrier. He has a dark purple nose and light purple tongue. His long light golden fur completely covered his paws and his long ears covered up his dark gray eyes. He also has a medium-sized bushy tail.

Asta is a friendly and fun-loving dog. He is well-behaved and trained since he never interrupt Professor Pascal's class lecture nor bothering the students while they are learning. He is also quite intelligent and seems to understand what his owner and the students are saying. For example, in "Arakgum", he growled in disagreement when he heard Professor Pascal mention that he would love a pet spider.

Like a vast majority of people in Manhattan, Asta doesn't like ghosts since they would terrorize his owner and his students. If he happens to encounter one, Asta would angrily growl and bark at it so he could try scaring it away. He even once attempted to bite Mikroo before realizing that ghosts have intangible bodies. There are some occasions where he would run and hide if he finds a ghost to be very aggressive. However, he is a good judge of character and quickly recognizes Glups as non-hostile since the latter doesn't immediately attack him upon their first meeting.
Relationships
Professor Pascal

Asta is very close to his owner Professor Pascal. Because of his owner's old age and having a tendency to be oblivious to the dangers around him, it can be interpreted that Asta is Professor Pascal's unofficial service dog. He is always brought to the school where he would watch Professor Pascal teach his students and follow him everywhere he goes. The two would even spend time together after school hours, such as visiting Central Park.

While Asta rarely gets to interact with Andy, the dog recognizes the teen as a student of his owner and sees him as a good person.
In "Scream Scratch", Andy became Asta's pet sitter while Professor Pascal was away for a conference at the American Museum of Natural History. Despite Andy and his friends left Asta with Miss Jones at the lab because they went to Michael Collins's Dragon Venom launch campaign at the NYC Dunk, Asta still trusts Andy and likes the idea of him continuing to be his pet sitter on some occasions.
Glups

Despite Asta doesn't like ghosts, he gets along positively with Glups.
In "Scream Scratch", Asta was brought to the underground laboratory when Andy was looking after him. Upon arriving at the garage, the dog curiously sniffed Glups after meeting him for the first time and recognized him as being friendlier than the other wild ghosts he encountered. The two then played together in the garage while the kids went to the NYC Dunk.

Trivia
- The name "Asta" means "star-like". His owner is confirmed to be fascinated with astronomy in "Chaorion", which might be the reason behind his name.
- Despite having a feminine name, Asta is a male dog.
- Professor Pascal did however in "Scream Scratch", use female pronomen when referring to Asta.
- Because they are the same dog breeds, Asta has a similar appearance to Dougal from The Magic Roundabout.
- Asta had been hypnotized by a ghost on three separate occasions. So far, he was under the trance of Mastaar, Agia, and Chaorion.
- As seen in both "Gmagicard" and "Scream Scratch", Asta's character model doesn't have visible feet.
- Asta's favorite dog treat is called Woofkies, but Professor Pascal instructed Andy when pet sitting him to not give more than two of them. He also drinks water once an hour.
- In "Criangle", Asta was transformed into a pentagonal prism by the titular ghost.
- As revealed in "Tortress", Asta is one of Roland's best customers of the Ghost Dog since he was featured in a photograph on his clipboard. Because Asta is a dog, Professor Pascal is the one purchasing from Roland to feed him.
